How many clothes should a capsule wardrobe have?
Most working capsules land between 25 and 40 pieces, not counting workout gear, sleepwear, and occasion wear.
The famous number is 33 (from Project 333), but the right number is the one where every piece pairs with at least three others. Under 25 and laundry cadence gets stressful; over 40 and interchangeability usually breaks because pieces sneak in that only work one way. Count tops, bottoms, layers, dresses, and shoes. Exclude underwear, gym clothes, and true formalwear - those are uniforms, not wardrobe.
